
Thomas County Economic Development Alliance, a county-wide economic development inter-local agency, is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead it into the future. This is a full-time position that works closely with the TCEDA Board of Directors in promoting the business and economic development interests within Thomas County.
Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to formulate and execute strategic & long-range plans
Ability to cultivate and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to utilize technology as needed to accomplish job responsibilities
Willingness to work outside of normal business hours
Bachelor’s degree required (Experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree)
Experience in economic development and/or organizational management is strongly preferred
Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) preferred
Some local, regional, and state travel is required (Must have a valid driver’s license and will use your own vehicle.)
Must relocate to Thomas County within one month of hire
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of TCEDA
Develops and implements short and long term economic development strategies to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives including those related to business attraction, business retention & expansion, entrepreneurship, and housing
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with local businesses, city and county officials, chamber of commerce, state and regional partners, the media, and the general public
Represents TCEDA at appropriate civic, cultural, charitable, business, and community activities
Serves on boards, commissions, committees, and organizations related to areas that are critical to TCEDA’s goals and interests
Prepares, administers, and monitors the organization’s budget and oversees all accounting functions
Leads the development and administration of fundraising and/or grant writing for general operations and special projects
Marketing of TCEDA through social media and website.
Performs other duties as assigned
